THEMES
CHILD CARE PHILOSOPHY
CURRICULUM

THEMES
At IIP we come up with a lot of great themes during the year. Of course we talk about the seasons,
the holidays, our families and friends but we also talk about magical animals, fairies and pirates
,
flying cars.
.. Our kids inspire us to create new exciting themes.

CHILD CARE PHILOSOPHY
Preschool is the introductory step into the educational system and should be a positive experience for
each child. It should also be a secure environment where their development can be encouraged and
supported during these important years. In this respect, we feel a "home like" setting is the best choice
for working parents.
Imagination International Pre-School strives to be a home away from home, providing
children with "siblings" of differing ages to play and socialize with, and to learn from.

Our goal to ensure quality care for your child is to provide:

heart A safe and nurturing environment

Children should not grow up thinking that love and respect are conditional. Each child is unique and
should be seen for their individuality. We want to maintain a community where equality is a focus and
discrimination of any kind is not tolerated. As role models, we will lead by example and work with these
concepts on a daily basis.

heart A comfortable place to learn
Learning is not only about the ABC´s and 123´s, but is also about internal and external values.
The "importance of being" - or internal - values are honesty, respect, self-reliance, potential, self-discipline
and moderation.
The "importance of giving"
- or external - values are dependability, love, sensitivity to others, kindness,
friendliness & fairness. Both sets are taught actively within the school.

heart A proper approach to discipline
Since children are constantly exploring their behavioral boundaries, it is important that you and
the pre-school share a similar philosophy so that your child is not confused as to what is expected of
him/her. Here at Imagination International children will be taught which behaviors are innappropriate
and why, and acceptable alternatives will be offered. In this way, the action is being changed without
causing the child to feel badly about themself. This will also help develop their self-esteem and
will teach them how to handle difficult situations in the future.
